Big House

I better get these pictures posted before we loose Internet again its been off all day. We finally had the opportunity to look inside the building. It seems smaller that what I expected for a big house in terms of floor space.

The above photo is of an outside wall where it meets the roof. Another basically tree is used as a beam.

Above is looking at where the front door will be looks like a cool archway.

I want to see what it will look like when it is all finished. It is supposed to hold 500 people, and still have room for the dancers. We will see.

Sleep

It is really hard to sleep when you are very rudely awaken in the early early early hours on the morning (1something am) by a thunder storm. The first one I don't think it was the lightning that woke me up but it was the thunder. It was so loud that it shock the house rattled the windows and I think the whole town was awake. It was bad enough that some thought it might be an earthquake but the next lightning and thunder came not long after. The storm lasted a few hours and no I didn't get to sleep until after. Each time I started falling asleep another BANG and flash of light.

The Guys have been really busy working on the longhouse but since it looks like this and they are working on the interior we don't actually know what is going on.

Bears at large

I was out and about today and noticed that the police seemed to be out in great numbers. Basically I saw more driving around than I usually do but since I work days it might not be so abnormal.  Anyway, heading home I noticed a cop on the side of the road putting up yellow tape. I pulled into my parking spot and before I was out of my car a cop pulled into the complex. I asked what was up with the yellow tape. Apparently they are trying to capture a bear. Crazy for this time a year, shouldn't bears be sleeping at this time of year.

It has been over a week since I sprained my ankle at work on slush and ice. It still hurts and is swollen. But I figure it will heal eventually and hopefully soon.

January Driving

So after work On Thursday I left Gold River so I could get to Campbell River for an appointment at 8am Friday.
The First two pictures are of the road between Gold River and Buttle Narrows.The last two pictures are of the road between Buttle Narrows and Campbell River. I made it even though I am terrified of driving in snow.
