Apr-20-2010 follow up
Okay I was asked what the Killer Whales (Orca) looked like from the air. I know Killer Whales are black and white but they almost looked grey and white from over head. That could have also been due to the weather that day. They also looked sooooo small but we were also 900ish feet in the air. We circled around a few times to look at them and yes we banked hard and we were pretty much side ways in the air (wing down facing the earth instead of the belly of the plane). Not a stunt for the faint of heart.

Apr 20 2010
Okay the one day I decide not to take my camera over to Zeballos because it wasn't nice out. It was very foggy with shades of grey, brown and green. So no camera and we end up seeing Orcas....gggrrrr. Anyway it was so strange to see an orca from the air. This was the first time in almost three years of flying in and out of Zeballos that I've seen Orcas. The pilot said that once we were dropped off they were on the way back to Gold River they notice grey whales. Haven't seen those from the air either. Hopefully I will have an opportunity to see whales again and when I have my camera in my hands.

April 14th 2010
Well spring definitely feels like it is here and the last couple of days have been cold in the morning and really warm in the afternoon. Kind of makes you want to get out of the office and work on getting natural Vitamin D.
